10 Tips on How to Stay Emotionally Healthy - By Alice Landry

Emotional health refers to your overall psychological wellbeing. People who are emotionally healthy handle stress well, deal with challenges as opportunities, have a positive self-image, and are able to sustain healthy relationships. Review the following tips on how to stay emotionally healthy.

1. Laugh often.
Emotional benefits of laughter include feeling a sense of contentment and joy, shifting your perspective to a positive outlook, giving you more courage and hope, dissolving tense situations, and improving overall mood.

2. Do frequent feelings checks.
Determine how you feel when you wake up in the morning. If the feeling is negative, figure out what’s causing it and take steps to resolve the unsettling situation. Reorient your emotions with affirmations and confidence to set a new tone for the day. Recognize any physiologic clues your body gives off as evidence of emotional stress.

3. Focus on the positive.
Admit any negative feelings you may have, deal with them, and move on. Do not dwell on circumstances from the past or those you cannot control. Say positive affirmations and keep inspirational quotes handy. Remember that what you focus on is what you will attract in life, so put your energy toward that which you desire, not what you don’t want.

4. Take care of your physical self.
The mind/body connection refers to how your body responds to the way you think, feel, and act. If you are physically healthy, your emotions will tend to be high. Bodily dis-ease or illness can create a slippery slope of negative emotions which self-perpetuate other physical problems, such as insomnia, upset stomach, and general aches and pains. Respect your body by exercising, eating nutritious foods, and getting proper rest.

5. Perform relaxation exercises.
Dealing with emotional ups and downs can be exhaustive and confusing. Allow your body and mind to create a blank slate so that your intentions to heal the situation can come from a place of clarity, insight, and faith instead of fear or despair. Invest time and energy into practices such as yoga, meditation, deep breathing, Reiki, sea salt baths, and massage.

6. Stay socially connected.
Involving yourself in projects and activities with family, friends, or the general community is a strong aspect of wellness at any age. Pick an interest that you would like to learn more about, join a club focused on that particular hobby, and form connections with those involved. Social networking websites also offer an outlet for creating relationships based on similar interests.

7. Practice mindfulness.
Mindfulness is the state of being fully aware of your thoughts, feelings, and actions at any given wakeful moment. Living in the here and now is a powerful self-growth tool. You begin to learn that the feelings you experience are ever-changing, you discover underlying destructive patterns that you may not have noticed before, and you evolve by changing those fixed patterns into more dynamic approaches.

8. Channel your feelings productively.
If you feel acutely angered or overwhelmed, instead of harboring negative emotions, release built-up tension through activities such as running, writing in a journal, or transforming stress into motivation to achieve your goals.

9. Avoid all or nothing thinking.
Thinking in terms of black and white absolutes instead of shades of grey is a common element of depression. Words like disastrous, terrible, ruined, and never should be red flag signs that you may be thinking catastrophically. Situations may be unfortunate, but not a complete end-of-the-world disaster. Consider the point that even smart people don’t always make the best choices. You can learn from your mistakes and consciously choose a healthier path next time.

10. Begin a personal development journey.
If you are ready and willing to heal your life, realize that you are in the driver’s seat. Think of ways to improve yourself, your relationships, and your overall life every day. Choose thoughts, feelings, and actions that are aligned with truth, love, and power.
Emotional health ties into physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Sun of India

If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India!
Romaine Rolland, French scholar

Hello Readers,

15th August is a very special day for us.On this very day 65 years ago at midnight India regained her independence from the Britain. The first prime minister of India Pundit Neheru hoisted our tri-colour flag at the Red-Fort.Then he said:

At the dawn of history India started on her unending quest, and trackless centuries are filled with her striving and the grandeur of her success and her failures. Through good and ill fortune alike she has never lost sight of that quest or forgotten the ideals which gave her strength.
Jawaharlal Nehru
Indian Declaration of Independence, on eve of independence, August 15 1947.

Before I write anything else I want to pay my respect to all of those brave men and women who gifted this Independence day to us,snatching it out after a long long battle with every possible kinds of oppression and oppositions.I feel a shiver go down on my spine, just to imagine the kind of dark days our forefathers must have endured, how the whole world had witnessed heinous crimes against a human race by a fellow human race...but its over now,so lets not forget the contributions of our people.I salute them.
On this historical day ,I wanted to write some thing different to honor my country. So I have this idea,to discuss about past ,present and future of our India from an unique point of view..I hope that you will like my idea...I wish to explore my country in a new way.

Saturn & business/economy
Saturn and number 8 is associated with business and finance. From the ancient times forging business relationships with India has been of a great importance among other countries around the world.Be it silk, spices, precious jewels etc.India has been a resouceful and wealthy country, rather, a golden lure to the world.Somnath temple was looted by Sultaan MAMUD of GAZNI for 17 times, repeatedly. Then came Europian treaders.Less resourceful and weather-battered Britain saw its industrial revolution with the help of the money of INDIA.In modern era India is a huge market for a foreign investors. Our industries are also making it marks in the world stages. India has long been considered a country of unrealised potential. A new spirit of economic freedom is now stirring in the country, bringing sweeping changes in its wake.

spitituallity and exotic culture:
Few countries in the world have such an ancient and diverse culture as India's. Stretching back in an unbroken sweep over 5000 years, India's culture has been enriched by successive waves of migration which were absorbed into the Indian way of life.It is this variety which is a special hallmark of India. Its physical, religious and racial variety is as immense as its linguistic diversity. Sanskrit ,which is the most oldest language and mother of all modern languages, were used in India.
India is the land of sages and Gurus.Swami Vivekananda has pointed out that every civilization or culture has a particular life-centre, a dominant characteristic or trend. According to him the life-centre of Indian culture is spirituality. By spirituality is meant a way of life oriented to the ultimate purpose or goal of life which is the realization of the Supreme Spirit or God. Besides Hindus, Muslims are the most prominent religious group and are an integral part of Indian society. In fact India has the second largest population of Muslims in the world after Indonesia.

When I read the Bhagavad-Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous.
Albert Einstein

Saturn & Responsibility:
65 years is a very small time span but I am proud to say that how much India has achieved by this small time is quite a remarkable.. after the Independence was granted India was left with nothing. There were solid structures to be made, then there was a responsiblity to eleminate poverty and illiteracy from the country ,building industries to get a competitive edge in the global economy was the priorities.

Saturn & family structure:In our social structure, family is the basic institution of a society.Every children are taught the value of responsiblity towards soceity and elderly people.
Personally I think, the family culture is very stringent and conservative in India,in comparison to other countries.families are closely knitted where father figures are the authority. Here people observes rules and cultures of the society. Here children get protection of their families even after they are adults.

Saturn- the serpent:
In vedic astrology saturn is described as a serpent. At the time of British rule, European people used to think of India as a land of poisonous snakes and the land of the snake charmers.

Saturn & poverty:
saturn is not the planet of excess,it consticts.India has a biggest issues with poverty. At least 40% of the total population are in grip of poverty.some are intetioanlly made by explotation of poor. Most of the cities has beggars.

Saturn and rules:
Rules and regulations are the most important part of the Saturn. There is a specialty of our constitution.
It is the longest written constitution of any sovereign country in the world, containing 395 articles in 24 parts, 12 schedules and 94 amendments, for a total of 117,369 words in the English language version.constitution is the supreme authority of India.Justice system is very well thought out and democratic in India.saturn is associated with heirarchy and structure. There are various levels of judiciary in India — different types of courts have different styles of judges. They also form a strict hierarchy of importance, in line with the order of the courts in which they sit, with Supreme Court of India at the top, followed by High Courts of respective states with district judges sitting in District Courts and Magistrates of Second Class and Civil Judge (Junior Division) at the bottom.

saturn and politics:
India's democracy is a known and stable factor, which has taken deep roots over nearly half a century. Importantly, India has no fundamental conflict between its political and economic systems. Its political institutions have fostered an open society with strong collective and individual rights and an environment supportive of free economic enterprise.

Saturn and culture of education:
Today, India is one of the most exciting emerging markets in the world. Skilled managerial and technical manpower that match the best available in the world and a middle class whose size exceeds the population of the USA or the European Union, provide India with a distinct cutting edge in global competition. There is a culture of education and gathering knowledge among Indian people.every year India produces the largest numbers of engineers and doctors among the world.

Saturn & energy/power:
All the product beneath the land are ruled by saturn.Coal is one of the primary sources of energy, accounting for about 67% of the total energy consumption in the country. India has some of the largest reserves of coal in the world. Indian coal has high ash content and low calorific value. However, with the present rate of around 0.8 million tons average daily coal extraction in the country, the reserves are likely to last over a 100 years. The energy derived from coal in India is about twice that of energy derived from oil, as against the world, where energy derived from coal is about 30% lower than energy derived from oil.
India has the world's largest deposits of coal. Bituminous coal is found in Jharia and Bokaro in Bihar and Ranigunj in West Bengal. Lignite coals are found in Neyveli in Tamilnadu.Next to Russia, India has the largest supply of Manganese.India also produces third quarters of the world's mica.

India - The land of Vedas, the remarkable works contain not only religious ideas for a perfect life, but also facts which science has proved true. Electricity, radium, electronics, airship, all were known to the seers who founded the Vedas.
Wheeler Wilcox, American poet

slow ,delayed and pragmatic pace is the trade mark of Saturn. And these things are quite common with India too. whereas England ,whose zodiac is Aries, took swift action to colonize various countries in the world while India was busy with own past glory. After the independence the advancement is happenning but in a steady but slow pace..we often have found delay with our trafic, any govt realted job, any decision to pass in the perliament.as if delibarate is the speed of our country.

Saturn rules past.we Indians are always glorified to think about out past.

Most of the people in our country is working class or farmer.Saturn makes us do hard work.Saturn was originally an agricultural god and concerned with sowing seeds. Our vast lands are used mostly for agriculture.from the ancient times India was known for its agriculture.Natural beauty of the country is the another factor which never fails to attract visitors.

India is nodoubt a natural climber and very ambitious.Ready tomake her marks in the worlds economy and politics.some times she might seem diminutive and quiet but she has a steely determination which is unwavering.Yet the very smell of her earth is very welcoming and humble.Success is the most important thing to her.she craves authority but not with out tact and deplomacy, which we can be seen in her interest to get a permanenet place in UN. because this country's role is "crucial" for stability in the Asian region. India hate appearing rude and make unneccesary enemies.Nonviolence was the right answer against ever aggressive and invading country like Britain..

Victory attained by violence is tantamount to a defeat, for it is momentary.-mahatma gandhi.

as the story of the rabbit and the tortoise goes, the slow but steady win the race, our country will come out at top one day as a future super power of Asia. The land of lord Buddha, the land of Mahatma Gandhi will teach the mantra of non-violence and forgiveness which might cure the curse of terrorism.
till then...

So far as I am able to judge, nothing has been left undone, either by man or nature, to make India the most extraordinary country that the sun visits on his rounds. Nothing seems to have been forgotten, nothing overlooked.

How to deal Natal Aspects: Saturn square Ascendant

You are not responsible for the programming you picked up in the childhood, however ,as an adult you are one hundred percent responsible for fixing it
-Ken keyes Jr.

Hello Reader,

You must be surprised to see this post.Since you know Jupiter is the next in order in this Asc square series. If you are a new reader,I would like you to know, that I am very happy to have you on my blog, and If ,by any chance you were looking for this particular aspect in the search engine ,then I can say there is a similarity between you and me--we both want to Deal with it!!

As the quote goes in the beginning, its the thing that Saturn tries to teach us.Square is a hard aspect which creats friction and conflict inside our minds. We need a loads of positive outlook and hard work to make a deal with our inner conflict. But when this hard aspect involves SATURN then we need to try on much harder.

The best part of this square aspect is, it helps us to grow,to evolve, which makes our character and life better. These kinds of growths are never seasonal,,beacuse square aspect will always push you or motivate you to take some kind of action.its our responsibility to make sure that, this action we are about to take is ethical and good.Personally I like squares more than oppositions.

1.Dont underestimate your capabilities. All you have to do is "want".You have the enormous sourse of strength, persistence and perseverance.Make sure you use it in a positive manner.Short cuts were never invented for you.take long term goals and take one step at a time and stick to it...like establishing your own business or aiming for he post of the CEO.

2.Self doubt, weak faith on to yourself and lack of confidence are the trademarks of an unhappy Saturn.Ask your self, what are the things it did not let you achieve.Once you ask these questions,Saturn will show you the real picture, may be with some harsh colorings..but atleast it will help you to see where you stand. So always choose a challlenging job or goals.Dont run.Face the challenges ,just loose you serious side and go for some adventure or simple exploration ,gradually the path will get cleard..you will know your worth.

3.Cautiousness is good. But in your case it might be the reason for loosing some of the most promising opportunities. So dont over-plan or be too much of a perfectionist ,just go with the flow, let the situation unfold itself before you.It wont be a problem for you to deal with any situation. May be because you are inherently practical, have a good management ability and ...you are cautious.

4.Life is a serious business to you.Your aura often seems cold, melancholy or reclusive.Succumbing in to emotions is an out dated concept to you.You tend to rationalize your feelings and supress it.You ofen feel people dont undersatnd you...you can build a habit of writting diary or journals, indulging in your hobbies( hobbies are genrally close to once heart!).

5.Your life has taught you : "you have to pay for /earn everything ,nothing is free".If you look around ,you will see how many people are naturally generous and giving. Why dont you become more giving youself for a change? you would never have to pay anything for little compassion, love or affection..because they are priceless.
Dont be judgemental.

6.The quote in the beginning says "programming you picked up from the childhood".
The children with this aspect are often seem to have a difficult childhood.me too.My emotions and fears were not taken seriously,no hugs or pats for encouragements. There was a pressure to observe the rules and culture of the society,my dad is the head in my family and I had to obey him in every turn, conservative environment etc etc..If you can relate to these things from your childhood then ,I want to tell how how I have tackled it. Dont brood on what might have been, the time has passed, your childhood has passed. Now its time to create new memories. At least you will have something to tell to your grand children!!

7.Since emotional security was not the issue, you have turned to find materiel security. Some times you might want to possess everything which ever money can buy. Some times it can make you miserly. But In reality, emotional security cant be exchanged with the materiel security.Make sure too much materialistic attitude should not make you do unethical things.

8.You can be generous with gifts to loved once. You are a solid provider but choice of gifts should not reflect of your power, status or affluence.choose some sentimental gifts.

9.Saturn is as patient as the time itself. This aspect is often associated with a successful 2nd half of life.People might find you a late starter. Don't get frustrated with your initial failures or disappointments..make sure you have patience and work hard to make your foundation.. don't waste time.

10.Face your fears. In your natal chart the house occupied by the Saturn ,indicates the kind of fear you have.face this inner dragon.

11.You might fear responsibility and commitment to a relationship. Its easy to dodge responsibilities but we cant dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.start with small responsibilities like, going to the market,or paying for the electricity etc.Personally I think, these responsibility-taking will make you see what you are capable of doing.

12.You get negative feelings , disappointed at the slightest sign of failure. You might feel you are unlucky or deprived. don't brood.Use some positive statements. You are not unlucky, you luck is there in disguise..just find it.

13.Develop a sense of humor ,watch cartoons or comedy movies. This might help you to deal with your caustic, sarcastic remarks.

tip:
a. don't act stubborn.
b.keep your mind open .( esp. to the possibilities)
c.good that you have a deep respect for authority ,make sure you are getting your share of respect for who you are.
d.you are more talented than you believe you are.
e.you often hesitate to approach a potential mate.
d.your partner can appear or be actually Older than you.
f.control you depressions.
g. control your suspicious nature.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
- Mark Twain
have a nice day!!

Ruffled Rose

Love and a red rose can't be hid.
Thomas Holcroft

Hello reader,

Today,I would like to share the technique of making Ruffled Rose. You can use it in order to decorate things. Here I have used a long peice of raw silk ,but it can be done by using colourful ribbons. It can be used to decorate bags, hats even you can tuck it on your favorite clothes...if you want to be little more daring use it on your fancy shoes!!

Here I would like to say that ,I have used a silk strip which I have folded in to half horizontally. To give it a more fuller look, after its done..
To control the fraying and giving a wavy look I have used a lighter for the edges of the cloth.

duration : 30 mins

lets begin..
the meretials you will need to start off:

1.a piece of silk or ribbon.
2.a small piece of crinoline.
3.matching thread and niddle.

Take the ribbon or the strip of the cloth and start making a coil from either any of the end.Make sure its thick enough to look like a bud. Tuck the bud on the piece of the crinoline.

then?

see the video:

hope you enjoyed the idea.

bye.

PART 2 :My Node: My destiny?

When fate hands us a lemon, let's try to make lemonade.
- Dale Carnegie

Welcome back!

Earlier I described how my South node used to pull me towards my past.In case you have missed the first part, here is the link, PART 1 :My Node: My destiny?

My job and degree felt like hollow, meaningless victory.Recently a friend of mine wanted me to offer a responsible position in her charitable club. But I was fully conscious ,that it will take me nowhere, its another way of getting involved in things which will give me an emptiness, not joy .Then as the above quote goes,I tried to find my LEMON in my chart. And this lemon was nothing but the north node.

My north node is in GEMINI,5th house.
The writer of the HARRY POTTER series,Ms J.K.Rowling has the same NN palcement!!

My new environment is my Hobby,creativity(mental-emotional-physical),finding my own identity, recreation, romance, children. My present life which will lead me to my future is revolving around quick connection, communication(by any media),any thing to do with my hands, intellect, lower mind, fun, siblings, adaptability,variety,spontenoius,experimentation,books,self-expression etc.

Ruler of NN is mercury which is in virgo ,8th house.I might get pleasure and fun by communicating things related to deep questions or occult.Thats what I am doing right now!!My hobby and creativity will have a regenetative (8th) effect on me.Even my creativity with words might have a healing(8th) effect,a transformative effect on people.I am in to clinical counselling!!!

More over the tiredness I felt ,has vanished after I have started to walk on the roads of my destiny..there is so much to discover, its not the same old repeated job..I always look forward to write ,do crafts, paint, communicate etc.

As I told in the first part of this series, this path might not as easy and rosy. The best part is this path is the sure way to go to my fulfillment,so whats the problem if I face few hurdles along the way?after all ATTITUDE IS ALTITUDE.
If your life is too easy, the growth is inhibited.

In my case:
Pluto trine NN: penetrating,regenrative
moon trine NN: public trend
Venus sextile NN: creativity
Mars sextile NN: energy
NN trine ASC: My attitude is in harmony with my goal and public trends.

although NN square mercury and sun,are the source of conflict. It might make me critical, nervous, conflict between communication-mental expression and prevailing social attitude.I might hold back my opinion in order to avoid conflicts.
NN opposition Neptune can make me defocused, people may misunderstood my point, delusion, too much of fantacy, nebulousness ,addiction can be a trouble.

In order to grow I needed these difficult aspects..
at the end of my writing,I would like to add another quote..
Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice: It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.

Hope you liked my article.

where is your North Node ?
what does it want you to see?

bye

PART 1 :My Node: My destiny?

one meets his destiny often in the road he takes to avoid it- French proverb

Hello reader

greetings for the day!!
I am very happy to find you in this page, because this page might hold the key features of my awaited destiny. And if it does,I will be very happy to share it with you.

Actually,I might be seeking an invisible validation for my new found path of destiny by writing this article. In my point of view, destiny and life purpose are the same thing. To me, life purpose- this phrase does not merely describe my aim which I have been nurturing from my school life.It has more profound meaning ,which cant be found in a dictionary..so never waste your time on a search engine or a library.Because the meaning will find YOU.

Once it finds you,you will know your destiny or the life purpose. Then it might become THE RIGHT-PURPOSE because, at this time you will see that your fulfillment, happiness, work and,may be earnings are in harmony. As the above quote goes, your destiny will find you no matter which road you choose to travel in order to avoid it. This right-purpose might not be so easy and rosy ,but here some body has said ..
"Do not be afraid of the future; master it by linking your mind with time, which represents your past, present, and future, and learn to create your future as you wish it. This is your birthright."

The easiest way to find it is by looking at your NODES.(north node and south node)

"The North node placement is the direction the soul needs to take in this life for further evolution. This does not mean to turn away from the past, but to incorporate the useful aspects of the South node placement into the future. Any contact between the nodes, north or south, directly affects the entire nodal axis and both houses and signs in which they are placed. "

let me tell you my story:
South Node can tell you about your past life also...
I have SN in SAG ,11th house.I had a past life where my environment was purely religious and something to deal with higher philosophy, foreign land or higher education mixed with futuristic thinking-hopes,wishes-humanitarian ,social environment, acting for the sake of others.

I might have been some clargy man/ religous woman who gave his/her services for the society.I did some humanitarian work,or used to be a preacher or a teacher. The ruler of my SN is Jupiter which is in SAGI and situated in the 10th house conjuncted with Uranus. Some possible meaning could be:In this life I am fond of higher study. In the past I might used to be a social reformer ,or a person who used to be in front of the Public eye.

south node is my past ,rather you can say I have a lots of knowledge or inclination to do things related to which I have mentioned above.

In this present life my south node which is heavy with my past karma, is trying to attract me.Its the same thing as a scale.Visualize a scale. Which plate is heavy ,the scale will always try to trip towards that side.

I always liked social work,so in current life, I joined an NGO,which has been doing work related to educating people about some social situations. The bottom line is I did the most predictable thing which I have been doing for my past lives. Our south node always pulls us towards our past.
Now the question is why I would do the same thing again and again? wont it make me tired?
It did.I never felt that fulfilment which a right-purpose ought to give me.something went on eluding me...

some of the things my south node made me do:
>social work
>higher study
>teaching
>dealing my friends' as my brother-sisters-as if they are my family. etc..

this is the first part of my story...
In the second part ,I will tell you, what did my North node tell me to do....

see you.
